Last Day At PPG

Well, my last day at PPG is almost over. It's sad knowing that, as I explain all of my duties and current projects, I will no longer be involved or have any ownership at the facility. It's a terrific place to work...I will miss all of the friendly faces here. A lot of people appreciate our help and many more just stop in to say "hey" and "sup". There are people here who are genuinely sad and surprised to see me go. While, it makes me feel good, I feel a little guilty!

Thanks to all of my past and present coworkers who came down to Buffalo Wild Wings today. In all, there were almost two dozen friends there! I sure appreciated it and was encouraged by it. We even rode in the VIP van down to East Peoria. Zim Zinser did a great job navigating through the snowstorm.

On another note, I am NOT going to miss this STUPID weather. If it's not below zero, it's snowing. Good riddance, winter.

The best popcorn in the whole world!!

I officially leave for Greenville on Sunday morning, so wish me luck! The drive is about 730 miles and should take about 12 hours, if all goes well.

That's it for now!

Can't neglect the car.

Today, I spent the day in Springfield at Alan's.
I had a huge list of things to do for my car prior to the big trip next week.

What am I going to do without this lift?!?

The list included, but not necessarily in this order:
        • Bled brake lines and changed brake fluid
        • Installed new Hawk HPS brake pads
        • Cleaned and oiled AEM air filter element
        • Changed oil
        • Checked and added fluids
        • Checked tire pressure
        • New wiper blades

It took me about 6 hours, but included a nice dinner break ;)
As a side note, the Hawk pads that were on the car had about
40,000 miles on them and were only about 30% worn.
They are worth every penny!

Now, I should be set for the 750 mile trip South next week.
I still need to clean Sam's muddy pawprints from my leather seat :P

Wish me luck!

Fixed the Krazy KZ!

It's finally fixed!

Friday, I worked all day, rebuilding our motorcycle. I finally bought some used pistons and cylinders and had them reconditioned and fitted with piston rings. After putting it all back together and some adjustment, it started up right away! I even had a chance to ride it for a few minutes (it was about 15 degrees outside, so I didn't ride it for long). Nice and smooooth. My Dad was a help with this project; I've been working on this thing for about 4 months!

Thanks for all of your help Dad!

I also cleaned and ground the valves and replaced all of the gaskets.
This project was probably the biggest item on my todo list before I leave.
If you wish to follow the entire dramatic story, feel free to read my thread on the Kawasaki Twin owners forum: http://www.armbell.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5474&mforum=kz400

Ooooh pretty!

Welcome!

Welcome to my first blog! I am creating this blog as a way to stay in touch with my friends and family during our transition to Greenville, SC. If you have made it this far, thank you for your support during this exciting time. I will be moving down ahead of Erin, as she finishes up the year with her jobs, so I needed an outlet to keep everyone updated on what I'm seeing and experiencing during the move and househunt.
