It's finally fixed!
Friday, I worked all day, rebuilding our motorcycle. I finally bought some used pistons and cylinders and had them reconditioned and fitted with piston rings. After putting it all back together and some adjustment, it started up right away! I even had a chance to ride it for a few minutes (it was about 15 degrees outside, so I didn't ride it for long). Nice and smooooth. My Dad was a help with this project; I've been working on this thing for about 4 months!
Thanks for all of your help Dad!
I also cleaned and ground the valves and replaced all of the gaskets.
This project was probably the biggest item on my todo list before I leave.
If you wish to follow the entire dramatic story, feel free to read my thread on the Kawasaki Twin owners forum: http://www.armbell.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5474&mforum=kz400
