We finally had some sun and warm breezes blow through this week, bringing golden sunshine and the sweet smell of spring into our home. The windows were thrown open and my mood improved almost instantly. There is just something about the fresh, warm air that cheers me up and gives me more energy.
Erin and I took the opportunity to move some things up into our new attic space. It was a piece of cake, with Erin bringing the boxes and totes up the stairs and me fitting it all in (with room to spare!). Watch your head, though, because those roofing nails hurt like a emmer-effer.
Look at that cute wife of mine, taking in the warmth of the attic. We were sure sore after all of that lifting, but we made lots of new space in the garage and closets for more useful items.
Speaking of, this part of the garage used to be full of tubs and boxes and now our lawnmower fits in there quite nicely.
In case I haven't shared any pictures recently, here is the new hotel next to City Hall. The back half is being formed of concrete, unlike the steel framed forward section. They are really moving along and it is finally resembling a building.
I had the opportunity to go to the light duty shop to fix an old PC last week (I mean it was so old...HOW OLD WAS IT??....It was so old it used PC133 RAM! *Rimshot*) No seriously, it is the light duty fleet shop, where they work on the smaller, police-ier vehicles.
Then, it was over to the fine folks at Building Services. There is nothing funny about this picture...ya'll need to grow up!!!!
After two rounds of company audits, our site recently became certified to do what we've been doing all along. Yippee.
We had a team potluck to celebrate the end of the Gods-foresaken Exchange migration. It was an opportunity to finally try Cheerwine, a popular Southern soda tradition. It was Eh okay, it was like a weak cherry 7up. It did not contain cheer, or wine, for that matter.
Another southern tradition, BBQ pork, was also in store for us. That was absolutely teriffic!
I was taking our recyclables to Wal-Mart (ugh) and I had recently washed my car, so I did an impromptu photo shoot with my iphone. Can you believe that my baby is 6 years old this year? I have no plans to replace her, she is an absolute joy to drive and look at!
Today is Valentine's Day (Singles Awareness Day for all of you fabulous singles out there) and I am home, blogging. We don't usually make a big todo about this holiday, opting rather to spend money on more important things....okay, I guess I could have bought some flowers, but I don't think women really want things like that around the house. We ended up staying home to rent Burn After Reading. Good movie, BTW! I brought home some Moe's and we filled our souls with yummy burritos. We have a three day weekend, so I get two whole more days to do more nothing. I am in heaven. Happy V-Day!
